Hi!

I just visited :iconthe-gimp: again today. I've had them on watch for quite some time now with no signs of activity. In fact there hasn't been a journal entry since November of 2008. You are listed as the group's Administrator so I thought I would suggest to you to put the club up for adoption at :iconthelist: TheList so that someone else might be able to take over the group and make it active again. I was so looking forward to finding help using GIMP but it's hard to find an active club for GIMP on DA. "The-Gimp" is a great name for a club about GIMP, and your club already has some great resources in its gallery :gallery:. So putting it up for adoption would enable someone to take over and make it active again, benefiting the DA community as a whole. I would request that you please consider this option.

I beg your pardon but I *did* look at the gallery before placing my request. The *newest* submission [link] said "Submitted: March 16" and I could not see anything later than that. With no journal entry since November of 2008, it is apparent that members are not being contacted to submit anything via the journal. How can one expect to have submissions if the club isn't asking for them and reminding/inviting people to submit things? People forget clubs exist if they don't receive communication from them for a while. That's why there are so many dead clubs on DA. It's human nature to forget about things that are not placed in our paths of vision. "Out of sight, out of mind." You'll find the most active clubs are those that are usually sending out journal updates on a weekly basis. They also feature member artists regularly and even hold contests to hold member interest. If you are pleased with having nothing submitted since March, then that is definitely your prerogative as administrator. I will simply remove the club links from my site and look elsewhere for help with GIMP. Thank you for your time. Have a nice day.
